Course Description

This innovative new program will give medical practitioners, midwives, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, radiographers and radiation therapists, and policy makers the opportunity to gain a Masters level qualification that enhances their professional practice and provides the widest range of options for the future. This program is delivered online (except for Midwifery and paramedicine, which is on campus), offering the quality and recognition of a Monash postgraduate degree with the flexibility provided by the latest online delivery technologies. The Master of Advanced Health Care Practice is interprofessional by nature. You complete a common unit, 'Essentials of advanced health care practice and research', which reflects the collaboration required in practice to deliver health care of the highest quality. On completion of this unit, you then select one of the following specialisations: * Midwifery * Medical Imaging * Occupational Therapy * Paediatric Physiotherapy * Paramedic Practice * Primary Health Care * Radiation Therapy Students on an international visa may apply to study the Midwifery or Paramedic specialisations either in Australia on campus, or from your home country via online mode. Other specialisations are not available to international students in Australia on a student visa (however, these other specialisations may be studied via online mode from your home country).

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements Depending upon your prior qualifications: 1. Entry Level 1: Duration: 1.5 years full-time (72 points to complete) An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a credit (60%) average. AND Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent accredited professional registration body. AND A minimum of two years equivalent full-time experience in a cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in the area of specialisation. 2. Entry Level 2: Duration: 1 year full-time (48 points to complete) An Australian undergraduate Honours Degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a credit (60%) average. OR An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a credit (60%) average and submission of an extensive professional portfolio assessed by the Faculty. OR An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and a Graduate Diploma or Masters qualifying Degree in a cognate discipline, with a credit (60%) average in both qualifications. AND Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent accredited professional registration body. AND A minimum of two years equivalent full time experience in a cognate discipline and evidence of current engagement in Clinical Practice in area of specialisation. *****PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO***** ELIGIBILITY: For applicants who meet the entry criteria for Entry Level 1 (72 credit points) but not Entry Level 2 (48 credit points), a Professional Portfolio must be submitted. AIM OF PORTFOLIO: The Professional Portfolio should demonstrate continued professional learning in the applicant’s professional discipline and outcomes and achievements in their area of practice. The Portfolio should provide evidence of activities and outcomes equivalent to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 8 https://www.aqf.edu.au/). Documents required: 1. Prepare a Professional Portfolio according to the specified criteria and template. 2. Sign the statutory declaration that all the information provided is a true and accurate.
